In September, 2006 we had the chance to visit Vermont as a family. Immediately we were impressed with the natural beauty of Vermont. As gardeners though, we were interested in the differences between Vermont and Japanese style gardens. We took the opportunity to wander the neighborhoods of Montpelier, Woodstock and Bristol, looking at the various gardens and parks; as well as visit some of the nurseries and garden-shops around the state, and we were not disappointed. It was during these trips through the Vermont countryside that we thought it would be great to be able to share Japanese gardening with the people of Vermont.

Wefd like to thank Ed Burke of Bristol and Gerry Tarrant of Montpelier to whom we are extremely grateful. Without their generosity in time and advice we never could have gotten this far. We are excited and pleased to be able to share our love of Japanese gardens with the people of Vermont.
